The French Comté

The French Comté

Set up in 2011 by Florent and Fabien Joly, this wonderful stall based at London’s Borough Market, showcases the artisan food traditions of the Franche-Comté region in the Jura Mountains.

The Jolys come from a family of farmers who have been running market stalls for generations. They are scrupulous in selecting artisan producers with sound ethics and quality produce. Their delectable range of charcuterie and cheese speaks for itself. Their Comté Grande Reserve cheeses are exceptional and they offer a range of other regional cheeses including Mont D’Or and Saint Vernier. Their charcuterie is made from a local breed of pig, Le Franc-Comtois who are fed a totally natural diet. Their saucisses are protected by AOC certification which guarantees quality and demonstrates the savoir-faire of their producers.
