Surbiton Farmers Market

Hello and Welcome

Great to see you. Thanks for dropping by.

Whether you’re shopping for gourmet game, homemade preserves or delectable cakes and patisserie, our award-winning market is all about fantastic food, a great atmosphere and a true sense of community.

Every month some 26 stalls offer the very finest fare, brought to you directly by farmers and artisans who are truly passionate about what they do — and all against the village-y backdrop of leafy Maple Road with its chic eateries and shops.

Here on our website you can learn all about all these inspiring stalls, meet the team of trusty volunteers who run the market and check out market dates for the coming year. Oh, and because Surbiton Farmers’ Market is a community initiative, you can also see how we’re doing raising money for local good causes.

Like to see what makes our market so special?

Then watch our short video by film-makers Poppy Illsley and Jade Hoffman.

Do visit our website again soon! Over the coming months we’ll be announcing details of special events, running competitions to win market goodies and bringing you exclusive recipes from market stallholders.

This month on the market

March has certainly come in like a “lion”, but we’re hoping that Saturday’s weather falls closer to “lamb” on the spring spectrum.

To celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, a number of stallholders are bringing one-off items inspired by the glory of the Emerald Isle. Whatever the weather, you don’t want to miss out on slow-cooked beef and Guinness pies, sausage rolls with Clonakility black pudding and mint chocolate brownies with green and white icing, to name just a few.

Ralph Wettach and his hummus will be back after taking a break in February.

Wrights Original is away again this month, but that gives us the chance to bring back guest stall Hot Pods Chillis, who were a smash hit at the February market with their range of small-batch hot sauces.

Easter seems ages away, but should you want to get ahead in your prep, you can pre-order your lamb (or other roasts) from the Boarstall Meat stall and they will have it ready to collect on Saturday, April 20th.

We hope to see you bright and early Saturday on Maple Road!

This month on the market

Wrights Originals, Ringden Farm and Silent Pool will not be at the market in November, but we welcome back the always popular Kitty’s Kombucha (who were recently awarded their first Great Taste Award!) and are excited to have Nonsuch Shrooms come along for the first time, bringing a fantastic supply of fresh mushrooms.

You’ll also notice that VJ Game and Sussex Smokers are joining forces and will have a double stall.

If you didn’t get to stop by Flipping Amazing in October, be sure to visit this month and give their new winter menu a whirl. This social enterprise, which originated at Surbiton Farmers’ Market, is going from strength to strength and, well, we are heading into “peak” crepe season…

The organisers’ stall is moving to the St. Andrew’s end of the road (beside Holly & the Ivy), so that new regulars Baker and Cook can test out a more central position. They told us that one of their customers was completely panicked in October when he walked by their stall on his way to their September location and couldn’t find them (and their pastries)!

The Thames River Boat Project will be November’s charity of the month and if you’re lucky, not only can you help get underserved people onto the river, but you might win a cruise to boot.

And last, but certainly not least, we’re launching our new logo. There will be balloons galore, a festive atmosphere and branded cloth bags and aprons for sale on the organisers’ stall, with all proceeds going to our Christmas charity, Express CIC.

We hope to see you bright and early Saturday on Maple Road!

Market life is something truly made of magic. Every third Saturday the stars align and you have this happy little slice of bliss with heavenly food and good friends. I love the way that charity is at its heart. I feel so lucky to be a part of it.
