The Christmas market’s chosen charity is Express CIC, which raises awareness of autism and supports young people on the autism spectrum. They hold monthly Mums’ and Dads’ groups, regular coffee mornings and special events to bring people together and raise money to continue their good work.
There are a number of ways you can help. In addition to stopping by their stall on December 15th, you can treat yourself to a slice of Pear & Almond tart from The French Tarte at any point this month. 50p from each purchase will be donated. Or if you’re more of a savoury person, 50p from the sale of each bun at Giggly Pig’s annual market Hog Roast will go into the pot. And don’t forget to stop by the mulled wine stall (manned by Julian and Jenny), which also contributes.
Finally, we’ll be selling more of our snazzy new market shopping bags and aprons, which make lovely local gifts and profits go to fattening the coffers. We’re hoping to beat the princely sum of £1200 that was raised at this time last year and hope you can help!
